The hand is frequently exposed to burns, resulting in aesthetic and functional sequelae. Treatment of these sequelae is mainly surgical, consisting of skin grafts whose type depends on where the burn is located and on the type of sequelae. We report 152 cases of hand burns treated over a ten-year period (1998-2007) at the Plastic Surgery Service, Ibn-Sina Hospital, Rabat. Therapy depends on the type of sequelae and the localization of the burn. In all, 97 patients underwent a graft skin (76% fullthickness skin graft, 21% split-thickness, and 3% thin skin grafts). Despite the variety of surgical procedures available, hand burn sequelae pose a major therapeutic problem. Hence the importance of prevention.
