摘要

Failure to follow-up on abnormal test results is an important patient safety concern. Electronic medical records (EMR) can be design to automatically track abnormal test results and present them to providers. The authors surveyed physicians to assess satisfaction with their current abnormal test result tracking methods and their attitudes towards outpatient clinical decision support systems. Overall, the respondents were not satisfied with their current method for following abnormal results and believed that decision support systems with automated results tracking would be useful.
