文学家的地位由其作品的品质所决定，这是人所共知的。然而作品的品质该如何界定则是众说纷纭。本文以长期研究为基础，从道德伦理的角度详细探讨分析了文学的本质内涵，探讨了文学和现实、历史、文化、宗教、道德的关系。在此基础上，依据文学的道德品质把文学分成了三个类型（层次）：第一类是“圣人型”作品；第二类是“常入型”作品；第三类是“妖魔型”作品。%It is well - known that a writer＇s status is decided by the quality of his works, but the opinions must vary in how to define the quality and levels of the works. Based on the long-term studies in this field, the essence in literature and its relationships with reality, history, culture, religion and morality are, in detailed, analyzed from a new angle of ethics. Therefore, the literary woks and their authors＇ values are classified into three types： the first is the sage type; the second is the everyman type; the third is the demon type.
