As a subject with the combination of engineering and economy, value engineering is becoming more popular in the application of engineering construction projects. This article not only describes the basic principles and methods of value engineering, but also analyzes the application of value engineering in design of petroleum engineering project, combined with its characteristics.%　　作为一种工程技术与经济相结合的学科，价值工程在工程建设项目中的应用日渐普遍。本文介绍了价值工程的基本原理和方法，并结合石油工程项目的特点，分析了价值工程在石油工程项目设计中的应用。
