Being a prominent theory in the field of language teaching,sociocultural theory(SCT)has become widely applied since it gradually formed during the past century.An overall review and analysis of this theory may offer different angle for educators to teach languages well in modern times.This paper tries to provide an overview of the development and the main framework with some critical analysis of this theory.
