A novel Optical Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (O-OFDM)scheme is proposed for Intensity-Modula-ted Direct-Detection (IM/DD)systems named Hartley Polar O-OFDM (HP-OFDM).A large amount of operation time and memory can be saved for the system based on Fast Hartley Transform (FHT)when compared with conventional Cooley-Tukey Fast Fourier Transform (FFT),which is especially suitable for hardware implementation.It is also noted that the unipolar process of OFDM can be performed in polar coordinate.The simulation results show that the HP-OFDM can provide better BER and Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR)performances than ACO-OFDM under the same spectral efficiency condition.%针对强度调制/直接检测可见光通信系统,提出了一种新的 O-OFDM(光正交频分复用)技术方案,即 HP-OFDM(哈特莱极性光正交频分复用)。该方法利用快速哈特莱变换产生 OFDM信号,并通过坐标变换在极坐标系中实现 OFDM信号单极化。硬件实现方面相较于常用的Cooley-Tukey FFT(快速傅里叶变换)可有效节约运算时间和存储空间,便于硬件实现,并且极坐标系单极化处理较好地解决了系统 PAPR(峰均功率比)问题。仿真结果显示,HP-OFDM系统在达到 ACO-OFDM (非对称限幅光正交频分复用)系统频谱利用率的同时,其误码性能和PAPR均得到改善。
