Understanding Business English from the Stylistic Features of English Business Communication

     

摘要

Whether it is business English or business in English has remained a discrepancy for both linguists and learners. Researchers have been approaching from various aspects such as lexicon, semantics or syntax, etc. in order to define business English from general English but hardly has a clear-cut division been drawn out yet. So analysis of the stylistic features of the language used in business settings is made to illustrate that BE is by no means a simple combination of business and English, and successful acquisition of business English requires the learner’s awareness of business English vocabulary so as to further improve their international business ability to use language-related tactics to get results.
