The newest video coding standard based on H. 264 has a excellent compression performance and network affinity. It will play an important role in real-time video communication, network streaming media, multimedia short message, etc. The concept of the media transport technology and the architecture of real-time streaming protocol (RTSP) were firstly described, Then the encapsulation of H. 264 streaming with the RTP packets is focused on. At last, the main methods to realize the audio-video synchronization are discussed when programming for the H. 264 streaming video transport based on the RTSP.
