@@ Lachnum is a large genus in the Helotiales, Hyaloscyphaceae. In the past decades, a large number of Lachnum species were reported from diverse regions of the world (Dennis, 1949; Haines & Dumont, 1984; Haines, 1992; Korf & Zhuang, 1985; Sharma, 1986; Spooner, 1987; Galán & Raitviir, 1994; Hawksworth et al., 1995). In China, the earliest records of Lachnum dated back to 1934 when two species were reported by Teng (1934), i.e. L. virgineum (Batsch : Fr.) P. Karst. from Zhejiang and Erinella sinensis Teng [= L. abnorme (Mont.) J.H. Haines & Dumont] from Anhui, Fujian, Hainan, Hunan, Jiangsu, Yunnan, and Zhejiang. Later, seven additional species from the temperate China were found by Teng (1963), Tai (1979), and Zhuang (1989, 1997, 2000), mainly from Gansu, Hubei, Jilin, Ningxia, Shaanxi, and Yunnan provinces.
