The production methods of MgB2 nanostructure, such as general template-based two-steps or multi-steps, reactive sintering, electron beam lithographybased technique, direct pyrolysis method, Sol-Gel synthesis, combination of physical and chemical vapor deposition respectively are systematically introduced. The growth mechanisms and the problems involved in the existing synthesis methods are summarized. Characteristics of the above methods are also reviewed.
