Magnetorheologyical fluid, which consist of susp ensions of magnetic particle and stabilizer in a carrying fluid, are regarded as one of the most versatile materials available for applications in engineering. The principle of magnetorheological effect (MRE) and the properties of magnetor heological fluids (MRF) are briefly introduced in this paper. The work principl es of magnetorheological damping devices are illustrated and some application of magnetorheological technique in engineering are presented.
