In this paper, the 20 worldwide material handling system suppliers are regard as the research object, according to the Derwent Innovation Index (DII) database of 20 compa-nies, the index of number of patent, application country or area, IPC classification and technology trend are used to in-vestigate the competitiveness in technology of top 20 key en-terprises of material handling industry. By using the method of observation and literature research method to analyze the patent development between 1967~2015, which can give refer-ences for the development of logistics enterprises in China. We mainly conclude that none of the 20 leading global mate-rial handling enterprises come from China, but super patent countries consider China as the main target country of future business layout. Due to the patent protection of foreign high-tech enterprises strongly expansion to Chinese market, the patent development of China is not only difficult than ever before, but it also provide more opportunities and challenges for the introduction of high technology to China. The patent development state and the interests of enterprises is positively related with positive significance to encourage domestic enter-prises to focus on major enterprises and foreign patent protec-tion layout.%文章以全球排名前20的物料搬运系统供应商为研究对象，依据德温特专利数据库中20家企业的专利申请量、专利申请国家/地区、专利技术领域及技术发展趋势等数据，通过观察法、文献研究法等研究方法分析了1967~2015年间20家企业的专利发展情况，为我国物流企业发展提供参考。研究表明：目前20家全球领先物料搬运企业无一家来自中国，但专利大国已将中国作为未来的主要专利目标国进行商业布局；由于注重专利保护的国外高新企业的强势入驻，中国专利事业发展较之前更困难，但同时也为中国引入高新技术提供了更多的机遇与挑战；专利发展状态与企业利益呈正相关，鼓励国内企业注重专利保护及对外布局具有积极意义。
