“野狐禅”非佛源考

流行的观点认为““狐禅”之语源于唐代禅僧百丈怀海开导“狐之谈话,本文指出这种看法没有事实依据,所有提到“狐公案的禅宗典籍都没有““狐禅”之说。““狐禅”是宋代文人对并未真正悟得禅机而妄解禅意这种学禅现象的贬称,它是世俗创造的词,而不是来自禅林的称谓。进而言之,无论是““狐禅”还是““狐涎”,都是在中国传统文化的““狐意象”的基础上创造出来的词语,跟佛教没有直接关系,它们的出身是“俗源”,而非“佛源”。%It is a popular idea that the term Zen Wildfox is dated back to the instruction from Huaihai, a Zen monk at Baizhang Mountain in the Tang dynasty, to Wildfox. This article points out that is not the truth, and the story of Zen Wildfox is not mentioned in all the ancient books and records of Zen when Wildfox stories are told. Zen Wildfox is a concept created in secular world rather than a Buddhist term. It is a disparaging term used by the scholars in the Song dynasty to refer to the phenomenon that some people explain Zen casually without really understanding Zen. To make it clear, both Zen Wildfox and Wildfox Saliva were created on the basis of wild-fox imagery in traditional Chinese culture and have no direct relationship with Buddhism, born in the secular world, not in the Buddhist temples.
