北美的东亚图书馆协会——链接东方图书馆的桥梁

摘要

In response to Western interest in the East, higher education institutions in North America began to establish East Asian studies courses and develop related library resources in the late 19th century. This paper briefly explores the rise of Asian studies in North America, chronicles the development of East Asian libraries over the past hundred years, and systematically introduces the history, organization, and achievements of the Council on East Asian Libraries since its inception more than 60 years ago.%为因应西方人对东方的兴趣,北美的高等院校于十九世纪末开始设置东亚研究的课程并发展相关的图书馆资源。本文介绍了北美东方研究的崛起,探讨了百年来东亚图书馆的发展,并为六十多年来北美东亚图书馆协会发展的历史,组织及成就做了系统的梳理。
