《印中搜闻》对近代西方汉学发展的影响

摘要

The Indo-Chinese Gleaner (1817-1822) is the ifrst English newspaper published in Malacca. It was created by Robert Morrison and William Milne. As the actual executive, Milne took the f ull responsibility of the edition, publication and circulation of the newspaper alone. Although The Indo-Chinese Gleaner did not last a long time, based on its unique perspective and rich contents, it had not only become the medium of the communication between overseas missionaries, but also a main source of learning and understanding China.%《印中搜闻》（1817-1822）是伦敦会来华传教士马礼逊和米怜在马六甲创办的一份英文期刊。作为刊物的实际负责人，米怜独力承担起刊物的编辑、出版和经营等诸多工作。尽管发行时间不长，但《印中搜闻》以其独特的视角和丰富的内容，不但成为西方海外传教士相互沟通的媒介与平台，而且为近代西方了解、认识中国提供了大量资料。
