Schema incompatibility is a major challenge to a federated database systemfor data sharing among heterogeneous,multiple and autonomous databases.This paperpresents a mapping approach based on import schema,export schema and domain conver-sion function,through which schema incompatibility problems such as naming conflict,domain incompatibility and entity definition incompatibility can be resolved effectively.The implementation techniques are also discussed.
