Farmer's suicide after 1980s has the same logic with that in the traditional periods,and has its uniqueness as well.It is the result of the collision and action brought by modernity's entering into the vil-lages on rural socio-cultural structure and farmers'families and individuals. With huge differences in the socio-cultural structure of different rural areas,farmers'suicides presented noticeable regional differ-ences as well.In a same village,farmers of different ages,genders and classes would have different reac-tions to the impact of modernity, which would then lead to not only temporal and spatial differences in farmers'suicides,but also the differences in ages,genders and classes.Families were the main locations of farmers'suicides while family conflicts being the major predisposing factor thereof.To reduce the sui-cide rate in farmers,we shall start with smoothing the relationship within a family.At the present stage, we shall pay special attention to the separation of the elderly from the family relationship of filial genera-tions so as to eliminate the psychological burden and mental stress that may lead to their suicides.More-over,we shall establish such state responsibility as intervention of farmers'suicides,lifting the threats of"suicide"from farmers by the setting of agenda and adoption of measures by our country.%20世纪80年代以来的农民自杀既与传统时期农民自杀有相同的逻辑,也有其独特性,它是现代性进村与农村社会文化结构及农民家庭和个体发生碰撞和作用的结果.不同区域农村的社会文化结构差异巨大,农民自杀也有较大的区域差异性.同一村庄不同年龄、性别、阶层的农民群体在面对现代性冲击时会有不同的反应,从而使得农民自杀不仅有时间和空间差异,还有年龄、性别和阶层的差异.家庭是农民自杀的主要场域,家庭矛盾是农民自杀的主要诱发因素,降低农民自杀率首先要从理顺家庭关系着手,现阶段尤其是要将老年人从子代家庭关系中剥离出来,消除可能导致他们自杀的心理负担和精神压力.还要构建干预农民自杀的国家责任,通过国家设置议程、采取措施确保农民不受到"自杀"的威胁.
