随着信息技术不断更新,越来越多的人能够通过各种媒体形式接触各种各样的政治文本形式,国内外的种种政治文本形式对人们生活的影响也就越来越大.政治文本有时要求语言委婉含蓄、逻辑严密、表达礼貌含糊、让人易于接受.英语政治文本中有许多的模糊表达法,主要采用的是迂回婉转、降格陈述、升格陈述、诙谐幽默、模棱两可、创新词语等委婉语的表现形式.委婉语是英语中一种重要的修辞手段.政治委婉语的使用在保持社会稳定和国际关系良性发展方面具有不可小视的作用.英语学习者准确理解、欣赏、翻译和使用英语政治委婉语,对提升自己的英语理解力,增强自己的跨文化意识、减少或避免跨文化障碍都有一定的促进作用.%With the constantly updated information technology,more and more people are able to read or hear all kinds of political texts through various forms of media. The political texts both at home and abroad increasingly have influences on people's lives. The political texts are sometimes supposed to be euphemistic,rigorously logic and politely vague in expression and easy to be accepted. There are a lot of fuzzy expressions in the English political texts. The main ways are circuitousness/indirectness,degradation,up-gradation,witty humor,ambiguousness, and word-innovation,etc. They are the forms of euphemism. English euphemism is an important means of rheto-ric. The use of political euphemisms plays a key role in maintaining the social stability and benign development of international relationships. Understanding,appreciating,and accurately using and translating euphemisms in Eng-lish political texts will help improve the English learners ' comprehension ability,enhance their cross -cultural awareness,and reduce or avoid the cross-cultural barriers.
