Xiong Shili held a negative and critical attitude to the chaos of new spapers in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China .He pointed out that he lack of responsibility ,sense of mis-sion and morality of the newspapers would lead to very serious social consequences .He sincerely ad-vised that the new spapers should assume responsibility for supervision of the government and guiding of the people ,publicize and spread the concept of telling right from wrong ,insist on the moral stand-ards ,criticize by using sublime words with deep meaning ,stick to standing on their own and taking objective and impartial reporting and commentary .%熊十力对清末民初的报刊乱象持否定和批评的态度 ,他剀切指出报刊丧失责任感、使命感与道德感将会导致严重的社会危机.他倡言报刊 :应担负起监督政府、引导国民的重任 ;宣扬和传播正确的"是非"观念和公允的"道德"标准 ;秉持"春秋笔法"进行言论与评价 ;坚持独立自主、不偏不倚、无党无派、客观公正的报道和论说.
