Based on the Fourth Strength Theory,the failure of the material yielding failure due to plastic deformation is the result of distortion energy.So the distortion energy represent the damage suffered in asphalt pavement.The research used BISAR3.0 to calculate distortion energy at the different depth using different structure layers under both horizontal load and vertical load.The result showed that,distortion energy in asphalt pavement can be influenced very little by different basic types.Distortion energy produced in the upper and middle layers is the largest,distortion energy accumulated in road surface to 0.1 h1 depth region is much higher than that in the other locations.Modulus of upper layer determines the value of maximum distortion energy in asphalt pavement.The distortion energy of asphalt pavement can be significantly reduced by increasing the modulus of the upper layer.Middle surface layer''s modulus,the bottom layer''s modulus and the base layers'' can also affect the distortion energy.%第四强度理论认为,以塑性变形等屈服形式失效的材料破坏是内部形变能过大所致,与最大剪应力相似,形变能的大小同样代表沥青路面承受的剪切破坏作用的强弱.利用BISAR3.0计算了在水平荷载和竖向荷载的共同作用下,不同基层类型的沥青路面内各深度处的形变能值,结果发现:基层强弱对沥青路面内形变能影响很小;上、中面层产生的形变能最大,路表至0.1h1深度区域积累的形变能水平远高于其他位置;上面层模量决定了形变能最大值,提高上层模量可显著降低沥青路面内的形变能;中面层、下面层、基层模量对形变能也有一定影响.
