The ecological environment is fragile, the soil erosion is serious and the contradiction between human and the environment is very intense in the karst region of Cuizhou, which makes it very difficult for the local govern-ments to carry out poverty alleviation. However, the mineral resources in the area are abundant and the economy based on mining has been the key of the region(s) economy development. The local resource enterprises have strong e-conomic strength, so encouraging them to participate in poverty alleviation will bring new vitality for the poverty allevi-ation in the area.
