Placement of Concrete on Dam by Towerbelt

摘要

The outstanding properties of the placement of concrete by the towerbelt are the uninterrupted feeding, high intensity and capability of a direct pouring on the block. However, there is a problem concerning a back rise of the temperature of the pre cooled concrete during transportation, which is prone to the segregation of concrete aggregate if not suitably controlled. Therefore, how to guarantee the fast and quality placement of concrete by the towerbelt is a key issue to be solved during the construction. Some key issues are discussed in the paper in combination with Phase Ⅱ concrete construction of both the TGP powerhouse and dam in terms of the quality control of raw materials of concrete, counterpart equipment and construction technologies on the pouring block, design matching and equipment management during the placement of concrete on the dam by the towerbelt.
