肯塔基数字图书馆

摘要

The Kentuckiana Digital Library (KDL) is a large-scale, cooperative project that brings together rare and unique col ections from a large number of Kentucky libraries, archives, and historical and cultural institutions. As an important project of the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) system, KDL offers free, online access to a wealth of digitized resources of immense value to scholars, researchers, and anyone with an interest in the region's history and culture. This paper provides an overview of the Kentuckiana Digital Library's resources organization, technology features, and service characteristics. The authors' comments and suggestions are also given.%　　肯塔基数字图书馆（KDL）是一个整合肯塔基州本土文化及历史资料的具有地方特色的数字图书馆。作为美国国家科学数字图书馆（NSDL）项目的一部分，肯塔基数字图书馆免费为地方及相关民众提供丰富而独特的本土资源与服务。文章分别从资源组织、技术特征、服务特点三个方面对该数字图书馆作了评述，并从整体角度提出对于该数字图书馆的评价和建议。
