The cooperative communications can reduce the influence of wireless link fading and instability, and increase network reliability and data transmission rate. However, its MAC protocols become more complex because of cooperative transmission introduction. This paper studies a new medium access control protocol CoopMAC, in which high data rate stations assist low data rate stations in their transmission range by forwarding their traffic. In order to analyze CoopMAC performances, the Markov link model is studied, and the computing method of saturation throughput is derived. By using Matlab computation, we quantify the increase in the total network throughput is quantified in cooperative communication system, and the results show that CoopMAC can improve the network throughput.%协作通信可以降低无线链路的衰落和不稳定性带来的影响,提高网络的可靠性和数据传输速率。但是,由于协作传输的引入,其MAC协议变得更为复杂。因此,研究了一种新型的介质访问控制协议—CoopMAC,其核心是高数据速率节点协助低数据速率节点传输数据。为了分析CoopMAC的性能,接下来研究了其Markov链模型,推导出饱和吞吐量的计算方法,最后通过Matlab计算,在协作通信系统中量化整个网络的吞吐量,证明CoopMAC能够显著提高吞吐量。
