非饱和无线局域网环境中Idle Sense机制研究

摘要

Idle Sense is a famous MAC scheme that exhibits superior performance over IEEE 802.11 DCF in saturated operation. However, the saturation operation rarely occurs in a realistic wireless LAN. Therefore, the objective is to inves-tigate the non-saturation performance of Idle Sense. It is revealed that the non-saturation performance of Idle Sense is worse than that of IEEE 802.11 DCF, according to the design principle of Idle Sense. Then an improvement to the original Idle Sense is proposed to overcome its drawback in non-saturation operation.
