The support vector machines' classifying capability excels other learning algorithms' in some application domains. The Support Vector Machines theory is applied for vehicle license plate recognition in the paper based on the novel method of character recognition. It is hoped that higher accuracy and faster speed can be obtained which be extended greatly.
