Frequent occurrence of traffic congestion, road block and traffic accidents and the environmental pollution caused by transportation have increasingly become the bottleneck of national economic development. In order to prevent traffic congestion getting further worse, the governments in the world have launched intelligent transportation plan.he key of intelligent transportation system relies on the traffic information acquisition, in light of this, in the paper we introduce the development of a wireless sensor network based traffic information acquisition system which is of low cost and can be disposed to every intersection with large amounts.
