The LESP measurement was given to 71normal infants and 15 Infants and children with symptoms of GER. LESP and lower esophageal sphincter length(LESL)of 71 normal subjects were 16.27±5.09mmHg and 2.40±0.93cm respectively. There was no significant difference between boys and girls, but their LESP and LESL would increase with age. The neonatal and infant LESP and LESL were lower and shorter respectively. There was no correlation between LESP and LESL. As regards pediatric esophageal manometry, the rapid pull-through technique seemed to be better than the station pull-through technique. The LESP and LESL of the patients with symptoms of GER were 8.07±3.60 mmHg and 1.17±0.58cm respectively and significantly lower than those in normal subjects. In couclusion, the LESP measurement is a simple, quick and safe method for testing esophageal motility. It seems that this method can be widely used in patients with GER.%本文对71名正常小儿和15例有GER症状的患儿进行了LESP测定.
