@@ BASF, the world's largest chemical company,announced late April that it is shifting its China headquarters from Hong Kong to Shanghai on the eastern coastline of the country, aiming for a closer priority to major customers. "We are in the process of moving the China headquarters from Hong Kong to Shanghai to get closer to our major investment projects in the Yangtze River Delta," said Johnny Kwan, managing director of BASF (China) Co Ltd.rnBASF's operations in the Yangtze River Delta have accounted for 85 percent of the total in the Greater China area, which includes the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Province.Currently, Nanjing, the capital of Eastern China's Jiangsu Province, and Shanghai are the two major cities that host BASF's largest manufacturing facilities.
