With the extensive development of open spinal surgery, surgical site infection has gradually become a major complication that cannot be ignored in spinal surgeries. How to quickly and effectively control the infection and promote wound healing have been current a hot topic of spinal surgeons. Vacuum sealing drainage(VSD) has been widely applied in the treatment of various acute and chronic wounds and it possessed good efficacy in controlling local infection as well as promoting wound healing. And its clinical application in the spinal surgical site infection has been reported by more and more literatures.
