Multiple whole genome comparison in Bluejay.

摘要

Comparative genomics has become an essential and intensively-used approach for the identification of homologous gene candidates and their functions, and for the study of genome evolution. Multiple Whole Genome Comparison in Bluejay is a new feature developed in Bluejay offering users a platform for analyzing genes and their functions across multiple genomes. It uses a unique concept to represent the relationship among homologous genes, and creates the linking line between them by using a minimalistic algorithm. The comparison system in Bluejay can be installed and run either as a Java(TM) application locally or as a Java(TM) web start. In this short exposition, I will demonstrate some main functional features implemented in this comparison system with some examples of genome analysis and how this comparison system is useful for multiple whole genome comparison.; Keywords.
