With increasing use of Global Positioning System in the marine environment involving long baselines, the need for better positional accuracies has also increased. This report focuses on investigating the impact of baselines of various lengths in a marine environment.;The results show that the two sets of multi-baselines are not equivalent and comparisons made indicate that when a forward/reverse separation plot is used, the shorter baseline has a better solution. For the comparison between multi and single baselines, the solutions differ at cm-level.;Two sets of multi-baselines of approximately 204 Ian and 75 Ian, respectively, are used for post-processing kinematic data. The goal is to compare the results and determine the ''best'' solution, and the criteria for determining the best solution. The study compares the solutions from the multi-baselines with that from single baseline of the same baseline length. This is achieved by using the Waypoint Products Incorporated software GravNav to process seven days of GPS data obtained from the Princess of Acadia Project.
