In this study, dynamic simulation models are used to study dynamic behavior of a system in response to a process upset. This dynamic simulation is done using Aspen Dynamic simulation software. As case studies show, a single flash drum with failure of level controller, pressure controller is simulated. Another case study of deethanizer as an example is studied for the safety of the distillation column. As an application of dynamic simulation, flare minimization of an ethylene plant of a company in Southeast Texas was done and its results were shown.;Dynamic responses from these models are studied to find a way to minimize emissions during emergency situations. The advanced software tool, Aspen Tech Aspen Dynamics, provides improved understanding of the process, which helps the operation group make a fast and better decision.;This process simulation software gives a cost-effective approach to identify further pollution prevention methods and opportunities to safeguard environment and society. It benefits the environment, society, and economics.;The dynamic study of flash drum from a primary level to estimate the results of failures of controllers helped in understanding the safety of the deethanizer column when there is malfunctioning of level and pressure controllers.
