Constitutional democracy in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea: Implementation challenges and solutions.

The 1953 armistice signaled the cease-fire of the Korean War, resulting in a nation divided by a heavily guarded military demarcation line and a chasm of ideology about how a nation should be governed. This thesis examines strategies and challenges to implementing a constitutional democracy in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) in the context of the country's unique history and culture. Specific preparations in the region are cited as well as models for instituting a political and social framework for a free society.
