A study on the economic and social effects of Burmese migration focusing on Burmese migration to the United States.

摘要

This thesis explores the economic and social effects of Burmese migration, focusing on Burmese emigration to the United States. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, the economic and social impacts of the emigration are measured, noting how they affect the Burmese economy, and how they affect the United States, both economically and socially. Cross border migration to Thailand and Malaysia are explored, primarily to establish a basis for comparison regarding any demographic difference between cross border migration and migration to the United States.
