This thesis describes the benefit of Constraint Pressure Residual (CPR) in ECLIPSE. A group of models were created using Petrel functions, and this group of cases were tested in both ECLIPSE 2013 and ECLIPSE 2014. Currently, Schlumberger is implementing CPR into ECLIPSE 2014, and it would be of great benefit to understand how CPR improves the ECLIPSE simulator.;Results show that CPR decreases the number of linear iterations the software has to take to complete a simulation. It also decreases the convergence warning errors, and finally but most importantly, it improves the simulation time. With this information, users can choose to improve their simulation efficiency by purchasing ECLIPSE 2014 simulator. Clients will have quicker results and perform easier analysis of their simulation.
