摘要

In remote rural areas it is difficult to provide energy to improve the living environment of the people. Finding economical and practical solutions pose significant challenges. An Integrated Renewable Energy System (IRES) can effectively utilize locally available renewable resources to supply a variety of energy and other needs. On the other hand, insolation and wind availability can be highly unpredictable. The purpose of this study is to design off-grid IRES to "energize" rural areas for varying energy sources and demands. A mathematical model of the system is developed using MATLAB to consider an uninterrupted pattern of energy flow and provide the rural needs all through the year and under varying operating conditions. The system has been designed considering four renewable energy scenarios for the four seasons: spring, summer fall/monsoon and winter. Biomass and insolation are the primary sources considered in this study. Conditions of the rural areas are worsening by the day and will ultimately have negative global impact. The goal of this study is to improve the human living environment of the people living in rural areas by proper utilization of locally available renewable energy resources.
