A missional experiment: Community bridge building through conversations in the church park.

This project was a missional experiment designed to bridge an established congregation and the surrounding community through conversations in the adjacent park. A group of nine church members participated in a training event and together spoke with 54 different people from the local community in the church park. The church members used a conversation guide to gather information from church neighbors regarding their interest in future programs and events planned by the church. The church volunteers had a positive experience participating in this study. Church neighbors suggested numerous community-based, child-friendly ideas, as the congregation turns to focus on community ministry.
