Probation Outcomes: Factors Influencing Revocation

With the influx of offenders into correctional facilities, as well as the lack of available space for these offenders, the United States' correctional system is searching for alternative sanctions/solutions. Recent statistics reveal that 1 in every 66 adult U.S. residents are placed on probation in their lifetime. For this reason, it is important to take a closer look at probation outcomes (Kaeble & Conczar, 2016). This study of more than 1,400 clients in the probation system seeks to identify factors that influence a successful or revoked probation outcome. By assessing factors related to probation outcome, better results can be achieved.
