A psycho-educational support group, Bienestar, for Latino fathers that promotes involvement, education, and self care: A grant proposal.

The purpose for this grant proposal was to fund a fatherhood group Bienestar (i.e., well-being). The goals of the program are to provide psycho-education to improve attachment, engagement, and involvement of fathers in the lives of their children. When a father begins to take on caregiving duties it has a positive ripple effect on the entire family unit, especially for the children. When children have a strong bond with their fathers, the children improve cognitively, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. The submission and/or funding of this project were not a requirement for the successful completion of this project.
