摘要

An advanced automatic system for transducing chromatographic profiles for chemometric analysis has been developed. This transducer, coupled with pattern recognition techniques has been applied to gasoline identification, varietal classification of orange essence oils, and species identification of five related bacterial species.; Data for all three applications were collected with a computerized GC/MS system which had been optimized for use with high resolution capillary columns. The data system of the GC/MS has been networked with a mainframe computer so that data could be downloaded to the mainframe. Large amounts could be rapidly transported to the mainframe computer in this manner.; Chromatographic integration data collected for the three application studies were downloaded to the mainframe system, transduced into multivariate form, and analyzed using ARTHUR, a chemometric software package.
