THE GROWTH HISTORY AND THE TEN-PLUS-ONE CHURCH GROWTH MOVEMENT OF THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN TAIWAN. (CHINESE TEXT).

摘要

This dissertation takes a brief look at the history of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.; In the first chapter, the population, economy, education and religious background of Taiwan are introduced.; The second chapter focuses on the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan history, beginning with a pre-history when the Dutch Reformed Church started a short-lived mission work in Taiwan.; The rest of the second chapter contains a history of the pioneering period, time under Japanese control and post-war period.; Chapter three then covers the Ten Plus One Church Growth Movement. The origins, theological foundation, implementation, training and the Ten Plus One Church Growth Movement Conference held in 1983 are discussed.; An evaluation of the Ten Plus One Church Growth Movement to date shows it to fall far short of its goals. However, as experience and training have now taken place, the second phase of the movement will result in far more contributions to the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, and for the Kingdom of God.
