摘要

Bacteria capable of degrading one or more of the test compounds (lignin and the three isomers of Dinitrotoluene) were isolated from the aerobic treatment tanks and secondary clarifiers at the Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority in Pasadena, Texas. The isolates were identified as Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus megaterium, and Veillonella sp. The ability of these bacterial strains to degrade the above named compounds were determined by UV Spectrophotometry, Liquid Chromatography and Total Organic Carbon analysis.
