An integrated approach to computer-aided aircraft structural analysis.

Effective software and datafile management can enhance both engineering and manufacturing output. A method of integrating CAD, CAM, and finite element analysis software into a user-friendly package which may be effectively used by both novice and expert users is given. The role and development of on-line documentation and effective users manuals are discussed.;Many experts believe that a single dataset should be created and used for all CAEDM activities. The requirements and challenges of using a single dataset for CAD, CAM, and finite element analysis applications are reviewed. A scheme to effectively manage data generated by CAEDM software is also presented.
