The Eigenfrequencies of a vibrating thin plate.

摘要

A homogeneous, isotropic thin rectangular plate, under various combinations of certain energy-dissipative and energy-conservative boundary conditions, is made to vibrate. A partial differential equation modelling the motion is derived (under the same assumptions involved in deriving the equation for an Euler-Bernoullie beam). Finally, the Legendre-tau Spectral Method is used to approximate the frequencies of vibration.
