Data modeling for engineering process design.

摘要

Database technology will play a very important role in solving the problem of integration of the computer resources in the design office. It provides the means of store design data to be shared amongst users and application programs.; A prototype relational database management system, extended with various capabilities, is tested for modeling engineering data, i.e., designing an engineering database at the conceptual level. Various problems related to engineering design such as data typing, constraint handling, versioning, and data transfer are examined and directions for their solution are identified.
