A doctoral internship at Mobil Exploration and Producing U.S. Inc.

This Record of Study documents the author's internship experience while working with Mobil Exploration and Producing in Liberal, Kansas, during the period of December 20, 1990 through December 19, 1991. It is intended to establish that this experience meets the objectives of the Doctor of Engineering Internship program at Texas A&M University.;The primary focus of my activities was the reservoir characterization project at the Hugoton Field in Kansas. I participated in several different technical studies during this project, including the study of a water blockage/liquid loading problem in the field, and developing data for and running an analytical simulation model to screen gas reservoirs for horizontal drilling.;In addition, Material Balance (p/z) analysis, hydraulic fracture treatment studies, and other projects were assigned to the author as part of an engineering team studying the Hugoton Field.;I have very much enjoyed the atmosphere and challenges at Mobil Oil Co. (MEPUS) and look forward to participating in additional challenges in the future.
