In this research, the properties of ethylene on unpromoted and promoted Ag catalyst were studied by solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.;In Chapter one, the static cross-polarization spectra of ethylene at different temperatures were measured. Different jump site models are proposed to simulate the experimental results. The 3 site and 4 site jump models are chosen as the most satisfactory model to fit experimental spectra.;In Chapter two, the oxidation of ethylene over silver catalysts has been studied in detail by solid-state ;In Chapter three, the effects of a Cs;In Chapter four, the properties of Rb;In Chapter five, the interaction between silver metal and different forms of alumina has been studied by
