Mine reclamation and waste dump stability.

摘要

Little work has been done on arid, western mass-production metal ore mine waste dumps. This study presents a step-by-step stability analysis of several mine waste dumps in the state of Nevada and examines the State and Federal guidelines currently in effect for waste dump reclamation. Four waste dumps in Nevada, two each from the Candelaria Mine in western Mineral County and the Bald Mountain Mine in northwestern White Pine County, are examined to determine the geotechnical properties of unreclaimed mine waste dumps in Nevada, to assess waste dump stability, and to analyze the results of the stability analyses in light of the existing reclamation regulations.
