The electrochemical behaviour of several phthalocyanine derivatives (Pcs) in solution and deposited on electrode surfaces have been studied. The applications of these Pc-modified electrodes in electrocatalysis and Ion Selective Electrode, ISE, technology have also been investigated.;The reduction of the chloro(phthalocyaninato)rhodium (III) species to the rhodium (II) species, in solution and adsorbed on the highly-oriented pyroltic graphite (HOPG) surface, leads to the formation of a dimeric rhodium(II) species which can be reversibly oxidized to a (Rh(III)Pc) ;Electroreduction of cobalt (II) N,N,;The surface electrochemistry of cobalt (II) tetraamino-phthalocyanine polymer on a graphite electrode has been studied in aqueous buffer conditions. This polymer-modified electrode surface shows activity for 2-electron and 4-electron dioxygen reduction at different redox potentials. The possibility of using this polymer-modified electrode as an ion-selective electrode for sulfide ion and sulfur-containing compounds has also been investigated in pH 7, 10 and 13.
